Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for purchases made on pdfninjatools.com (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. General principle
PDF Ninja Tools operates on a pay-as-you-go credit model. Credits are digital goods that grant access to our tools. Because they are consumed immediately upon use, our default position is:
- Consumed credits are not refundable. Once credits have been spent to process a document, we cannot reverse the transaction.
- Unused credits may be refundable in limited circumstances, at our discretion or where required by applicable law.
2. When we will refund unused credits
We will generally refund unused credits in the following situations:
- You purchased credits but never used them and request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
- There was a billing error (for example, a duplicate charge or incorrect amount).
- The Service was unavailable for an extended period due to a fault on our side, and you were unable to use credits you had purchased for that reason.
- EU right of withdrawal: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from the purchase of unused digital content without giving a reason. Exercising this right means we will refund the unused credits. If you have already started consuming the credits, your right of withdrawal may be lost in accordance with EU law.
3. When we will not refund
We do not provide refunds in the following cases:
- Credits that have already been consumed to process one or more documents.
- Requests made more than 14 days after the purchase date (except where a longer period is required by applicable law).
- Abuse of the free trial or credit system (for example, creating multiple accounts to claim free credits).
- Change of mind after credits have been partially or fully used.
- Issues caused by uploading corrupted, password-protected, or otherwise unsupported files — our tools describe supported formats and limitations on each tool page.
4. How to request a refund
Email us at info@pdfninjatools.com with:
- the email address associated with your account;
- the date and approximate amount of the purchase;
- a brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
5. Free documents
One free document per tool does not involve a payment and is not eligible for a refund claim. It is offered so you can evaluate the Service before purchasing credits.
6. Disputed or chargeback payments
We prefer to resolve issues directly. If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank before contacting us, we may suspend your account pending resolution. Repeated or fraudulent chargebacks may result in permanent account termination.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest version.
